Hasetsu (Japanese: 長谷津, Hasetsu) is the hometown of Yuuri Katsuki. Hasetsu is a fictional location in Saga Prefecture, Kyushu, Japan, based on the real-life city of Karatsu. It is one of the settings of the series.
It was previously famous for its hot springs, but more and more of them kept going out of business until Yu-Topia Katsuki, the hot spring run by Yuuri's parents, was the only one remaining. Hasetsu is also known for Hasetsu Castle, a supposed "ninja residence".
Hasetsu's mascots are a squid and a sea urchin.[1]
